Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the ANIMA mobile application (the “App”), operated by JNT & Co (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Eligibility

You must be 18 years of age or older to use the App. By using the App, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

2. What ANIMA Is, and What It Is Not

ANIMA offers a set of self-reflection practices, each guided by an AI facilitator that responds to what you write. The App is designed for self-inquiry and awareness, not treatment.

ANIMA is not therapy, medical advice, or a substitute for professional mental health care. The AI facilitator does not diagnose conditions, predict outcomes, or provide clinical guidance. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact a licensed professional or a crisis service in your area. The App is not equipped to provide emergency support.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information when creating an account, and you may not share your account with others.

4. Your Content

You keep ownership of what you write in the App (your intentions, reflection answers, and any other content you create). By using the App, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and transmit that content only to operate the App, including sending relevant portions to our AI service provider (Anthropic) to generate the facilitator’s responses, as described in our Privacy Policy.

You agree not to submit content that is illegal, that violates the rights of others, or that you do not have the right to share.

Content about other people. One of the App’s practices (Naikan) is specifically designed around reflecting on a real, named person in your life. If you use this or any other feature to write about someone else, please use reasonable discretion. Avoid including unnecessarily identifying or sensitive information about that person, and understand that this content is processed and stored the same way your own content is (see our Privacy Policy, Section 2.3). We do not independently verify, moderate, or take responsibility for the accuracy of anything you write about a third party.

5. AI-Generated Content

Responses from the AI facilitator are generated by an AI system and are provided for reflective purposes only. They are not statements of fact, professional advice, or predictions about your life. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or appropriateness of any AI-generated response, although the system is designed with specific rules intended to keep responses observational rather than directive.

6. Subscriptions and Payment

ANIMA can currently be used free of charge. A paid plan (ANIMA+) may be offered in the future. If it is, these Terms will be updated before you can be charged, and the price, what is included, and how billing and renewal work will be shown clearly before you buy.

Any purchase will be made through the Apple App Store or Google Play and is also governed by that store’s terms, including its rules on cancellation and refunds. You will be able to cancel a subscription at any time in your store account settings.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the App’s systems
  • Use the App to harass, harm, or impersonate others
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the App’s source code or AI prompts, except where the law allows it
  • Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the App

8. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, and original content (excluding content you create), is owned by JNT & Co and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute the App or its underlying systems without our permission.

9. Disclaimers

The App is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the extent permitted by law, we make no warranties, express or implied, that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that AI-generated content will meet your expectations or needs.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, JNT & Co is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, or for decisions you make based on AI-generated content.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your rights as a consumer under the mandatory laws of the country where you live.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you seriously or repeatedly violate these Terms. You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Greece. If you are a consumer living in the European Union, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence, and you may bring a claim in the courts of that country.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the App. Continuing to use the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
